Amazon Prime Video has several horror films in its library that definitely stand out for their atmosphere and ideas. If you're looking for a strong viewing experience for the evening, it's worth paying particular attention to Companion, Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, and Nosferatu.

“Companion” is one of the loudest horrors of 2025

Companion quickly became one of the most commented horrors in recent months. The film mixes psychological thriller with science fiction and strongly emphasises tension and a disturbing atmosphere. The production has received a lot of positive reviews for its ambiance and the way it builds relationships between the characters. Viewers particularly praise the plot twists and the unusual approach to the theme of artificial intelligence.

“Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum” still terrifies after years

The Korean Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum has been considered one of the strongest found footage horrors for years. The film follows a group of streamers visiting an abandoned psychiatric hospital believed to be haunted. The production heavily relies on atmosphere and the gradual build-up of fear instead of cheap jumpscares. For many horror fans, it is one of the best Asian horror productions of recent years.

„Nosferatu” returns in a modern rendition

The new version of Nosferatu from 2024 refreshes the iconic story of the vampire in an exceptionally dark and artistic style. The film strongly emphasises the Gothic atmosphere, excellent cinematography, and a heavy ambiance inspired by classic horror cinema. It is a horror film that is decidedly more atmospheric than focused on rapid action, and it is precisely for this reason that it stands out among many contemporary productions.
