The latest Marvel film – Thunderbolts* The New Avengers – has just landed on VOD platforms. It can already be purchased on platforms including Apple TV, Prime Video and Rakuten. Standard? Up to 4K, Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos – though not everywhere.
This is the 36th film in the MCU and the final chapter of the so-called Phase 5. Marvel has also released quite a few series on Disney+, but Thunderbolts* wraps everything up before entering Phase 6, which will kick off at the end of July with Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Reviews? Very good. Money? According to Marvel, not the best – 380 million dollars. That’s probably why the film appears on streaming about 2 months after its cinema release.
What’s next? It will only land on Disney+ "later this year", so if you don’t want to wait, you’ll have to buy it. And if you prefer physical editions – the UHD Blu-ray version will be available on 29 July.
