StreamView GmbH, responsible for producing televisions and streaming devices under the Thomson brand in Europe, has announced bankruptcy. The Austrian company has filed for insolvency with debts exceeding 36 million euros, which effectively ends its operations in their current form. This marks a significant change in the market, as StreamView has significantly expanded its offering of televisions with Google TV and streaming boxes in recent years.
What led to the downfall
According to information provided by the company, the main reasons were rising production costs, trade barriers, and issues with a partner in China.
