Samsung Odyssey G50SF – the cheapest OLED monitor in the brand's history!

Calendar 10/22/2025

Samsung Odyssey G50SF – the first affordable 27” 1440p 180 Hz OLED monitor. Perfect contrast and HDR10 at the lowest price in the brand’s history.

Samsung is expanding its OLED monitor lineup with a brand new model Odyssey G50SF – and most importantly, it's the most affordable OLED ever to hit the manufacturer's offerings.

The Odyssey G5 series has so far been known for its cheap LCD screens, so moving to OLED technology is a huge leap in quality – primarily due to perfect blacks, infinite contrast, and precise control of the brightness of each pixel.

OLED in “budget” version

The model G50SF features a 27-inch QD-OLED panel with a resolution of 1440p, a response time of 0.03 ms, and a refresh rate of up to 180 Hz. It is covered with a matte anti-reflective coating, and the colour reproduction impresses with 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and support for HDR10.

However, Samsung has omitted several extras to reduce costs – we won't find the Smart Hub Tizen system, speakers, or extensive ergonomics here (only tilt adjustment is available). The monitor supports AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync, and the user has access to HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 ports.

Prices and Availability

The Odyssey G50SF has debuted in New Zealand, Taiwan, and China, with prices approximately 570, 450, and 375 USD respectively. The global premiere is expected soon – and everything suggests that 2026 will bring a wave of cheaper OLEDs for gaming.

For comparison: current OLED models G6 and G8 typically start from around 999–1,299 USD, so the G50SF is indeed almost half the price of previous Samsung OLEDs.

Model G50SF ranks below the more expensive G6, G8 and G9, but for many gamers, it could be the best entry point into the world of OLED monitors – without the need to spend a fortune.
