PlayStation Plus gets another major update. The service will receive hit RPGs and action games.

Calendar 6/13/2026

June is shaping up to be particularly interesting for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Sony has revealed another batch of games that will soon be added to the Extra and Premium service catalog. This time, gamers can look forward to both major RPGs, dynamic action games, as well as a few less obvious titles that may come as a pleasant surprise.

Final Fantasy XVI and Sonic lead the June offerings

The standout star of the update is undoubtedly Final Fantasy XVI. The latest installment of the iconic series transports players to the dark world of Valisthea, where political conflicts, power struggles, and personal vengeance play a key role. It is also one of the most spectacular parts of the series, heavily focused on a dynamic combat system. The second major release is Sonic X Shadow Generations, which combines a refreshed version of the classic Sonic Generations with a brand-new campaign dedicated to Shadow. Players will uncover the story of one of the most recognisable heroes in the Sonic universe while also revisiting classic stages in a new graphic style. The lineup also includes Life is Strange: Double Exposure, where we will once again take on the role of Max Caulfield. The protagonist will attempt to unravel the mystery of a murder, navigating between two parallel realities.

RPGs, simulators and classics for subscribers

Fans of realistic RPGs can prepare for Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which will join the catalog in a refreshed version for PS5. The game allows you to experience the medieval story of Henry, the son of a blacksmith caught up in a brutal armed conflict.

Among other new additions are:

  • Farming Simulator 25

  • Blades of Fire

  • Black Desert

Meanwhile, Premium package users will gain access to the classic rhythm game Gitaroo Man, which returns to modern PlayStation consoles after many years.

The June update for PlayStation Plus is one of the strongest of the year so far. Sony is primarily focusing on large RPGs and action games, but also keeps in mind fans of simulators and classic titles. The biggest interest will undoubtedly be sparked by Final Fantasy XVI, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and Sonic X Shadow Generations, which could effectively attract new subscribers to the service.
