Until recently OLED monitors were gear for the most demanding gamers, but things are changing fast. Prices are falling, manufacturers are bringing out more and more models, and interest in the technology is clearly growing. According to Omdia's latest forecasts, more than 6 million OLED panels for monitors will hit the market in 2026. That's 79% more than a year earlier.
OLEDs are getting cheaper quickly
Data from analyst firm Omdia shows global shipments of OLED panels for monitors are set to reach 6.1 million units this year. The number is expected to rise to 7.5 million in 2027. ASUS remains the largest buyer of panels, accounting for about 23% of orders. MSI, Samsung and TPV, which owns brands such as AOC and Philips, follow.
The growing interest is driven mainly by gamers, who value OLEDs' deep blacks, high contrast and ultra-fast response times. Prices are also becoming increasingly important.
According to Omdia, popular 27-inch OLED monitors with 240 Hz refresh rates fell in price by more than 40% in 2026. In the first half of the year, prices for some higher-end models dropped to around $350, and they could approach $300 in 2027. In Poland you can easily buy an OLED today for about 1,500 zł.
TCL could shake up the market. Plans for up to 700 Hz
TCL CSOT is also lining up major changes and aims to challenge Samsung Display and LG Display. The company is developing inkjet printing (IJP) technology for OLED panels, which can reduce material waste during production. We covered this in more detail on ChooseTV.
The entry of another major manufacturer could increase competition and further lower panel production costs. For gamers, this means the prospect of a growing choice of OLED monitors at more affordable prices. For now, however, it’s unclear when the new technologies will translate into the prices of specific models in stores in Poland.
