Just a few days after the launch of the compact and affordable GV32, BenQ is releasing more serious models – the TK705i and TK705STi projectors. This time, the manufacturer focuses on significantly higher brightness and performance, allowing the projector to be used during the day without the need to completely darken the living room.
3,000 ANSI lumens – a show even in full sunlight
Both models are equipped with a laser light source that generates 3,000 ANSI lumens. In comparison, the portable GV32 offered only 500 lumens, which required a darkened room. Here we can expect a sharp and contrasty image even with sunlight coming into the interior.
Quick shot or optical zoom
BenQ TK705i – features motorised optical zoom, making it easier to adjust the image to fit the screen or wall.
BenQ TK705STi – this is a short-throw model that can be placed closer to the wall, making it ideal for smaller apartments and limited spaces.
Other than that, there are practically no differences – both projectors display images 4K up to 150 inches and provide the same colour quality.
Colours, gaming and simple setup
BenQ has opted for its proprietary solutions Cinematic Color and HDR-PRO, which allow for coverage of up to 98% of the Rec.709 gamut. This guarantees vivid and natural colours during movie screenings.
The projectors support HDMI 2.1 and USB-C, and the ALLM (Auto Low-Latency Mode) reduces latency to just 5 ms at 4K/60Hz. These are values that gamers will appreciate – both console and PC.
Onboard, we have the Google TV system with access to Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube, as well as Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi connectivity. Additionally, there is Smart Image Adaptation – a set of features that automatically adjusts the image: zoom, sharpness, keystone correction, and alignment.
