Amazon has decided to further enter the battle for viewers and is introducing a new package as part of Prime Video. This time, it’s about combining two popular services, Apple TV and Peacock, into one subscription. The whole package costs 20 dollars a month, and although the offer is time-limited, it already shows the direction in which the streaming market is headed.
One package instead of two subscriptions
The new offer allows you to save around 10 dollars a month compared to separately paying for both services. In practice, this means access to the entire library of productions from both platforms, from Apple TV series to popular shows and movies available on ChooseTV, including content from NBC and Universal. Both services practically operate ad-free, although live sports broadcasts remain an exception. ChooseTV Premium Plus additionally offers the ability to download materials offline and access to local NBC channels, which enhances its functionality compared to the standard version.
Streaming is increasingly resembling packages
Amazon's move is no coincidence. Streaming platforms are increasingly teaming up to retain users who are starting to feel fatigued by multiple subscriptions. Instead of several separate services, companies are offering packages reminiscent of old cable television, but in a modern version. The condition for taking advantage of the offer is having an active Amazon Prime subscription, and the package is currently only available in the USA. However, this may just be the beginning; if the solution proves successful, similar bundles may also appear in other regions.
The new package shows that the future of streaming is not just competition, but also collaboration between platforms, which aims to simplify life for viewers and reduce costs.
