Amazon has just wrapped up its big hardware event for 2025. The presentation took place on September 30 and was full of new offerings – from smart Echo speakers, to a new version of the Kindle Scribe, and fresh Fire TV, Ring, and Blink devices. Everything is, of course, integrated with the new Alexa+, which is a refreshed, AI-powered version of Amazon's assistant.
Ring: 2K and 4K cameras and Retinal Vision feature
Amazon has expanded the Ring family with a whole line of 2K and 4K cameras and video doorbells. The most interesting new features?
Retinal Vision – a system that analyses recordings from the past two weeks to adapt image processing to real-life conditions.
Alexa+ Greetings – intelligent responses for guests at the door (e.g., asks the visitor what brings them here).
Search Party – a feature that allows the community to use Ring cameras to find lost dogs (and in the future, other pets as well).
Blink: year of battery life and 2-in-1 camera
Blink is a brand owned by Amazon, specialising in easy-to-use and affordable home monitoring systems. Its biggest advantage is the battery-operated cameras that can work for months without recharging. This solution is particularly popular among those looking for maintenance-free monitoring both inside and outside the home.
New products have also appeared in the Blink family:
Blink Outdoor 2K+ – year-round operation on a single battery, two-way audio with noise reduction, person and vehicle detection (requires subscription).
Blink Mini 2K+ – compact indoor camera, just plug it in and it works.
Blink Arc – a solution with two lenses that combines the image into one wide shot using AI.
Fire TV: Omni QLED and the new 4K stick
Fire TV is Amazon's television platform that has been competing with Google TV and Android TV for years, offering access to streaming services, applications, and content integrated with Alexa. In the USA, it is one of the most popular Smart TV solutions – both in the form of televisions and multimedia devices.
At this year's event, Amazon significantly refreshed its portfolio:
Fire TV 2-Series and 4-Series – more affordable models for the mass market.
Fire TV Omni QLED – the flagship line with an improved display and Omnisense technology.
Omni QLED with Omnisense functionality
It is the Omni QLED that is meant to stand out in the offer. Amazon has implemented the Omnisense solution here, which uses motion and light sensors:
The television turns on automatically when a user enters the room,
turns off when you leave,
adjusts the colours and brightness of the image to the lighting conditions in the room.
It’s something like an “ambient mode,” just more advanced – the television becomes part of the environment, rather than just a black screen hanging on the wall.
Fire TV Stick 4K Select and Vega OS
The new addition is also the Fire TV Stick 4K Select with Vega OS. This device is set to compete with Google Chromecast 4K and Apple TV 4K, but Amazon is heavily focusing on integration with Alexa+.
With the new assistant, you can:
quickly find a movie or series,
ask about an actor and get their biography or filmography immediately,
check what happened previously in the plot if you paused the viewing,
and in the future, also integrate content with your own interests (e.g. recommendations based on your questions).
It is clear that Amazon wants the Fire TV to become not just a television, but a centre of home entertainment and smart home. With Alexa+ and integration with Echo, the television can respond to voice commands, control other devices, and even function as a large control screen for the smart home.
Kindle: Scribe Colorsoft with a new engine
Kindle has received a refresh in the form of Scribe Colorsoft. The new reader is thinner, lighter, and features a rendering engine that improves colour reproduction and reduces lag while writing. Amazon has also added a productivity toolkit – a digital notebook, AI-supported search, and integration with Google Drive and OneDrive.
Echo: stronger sound and Alexa Home Theater
Finally – what many have been waiting for. Amazon unveiled Echo Dot Max, a new version of Echo Studio, as well as Echo Show 8 and 11. All models received fresh chips and native support for Alexa+. Moreover, you can now connect up to five Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio in a surround system, all balanced by Alexa Home Theater.
Amazon has clearly focused on AI and the integration of the entire ecosystem this year. Regardless of whether we're talking about cameras, televisions, or speakers – everything revolves around Alexa+ and personalising user experiences.
