55-inch TCL TVs – Test Rankings

Technology: LCD VA, Mini-LED PFS LED

Brand: TCL

Verdict:

Is it worth buying the TCL A400U? Yes, because it’s one of those TVs where paying extra for a higher series doesn’t always make sense. In movies you get what you usually expect from a good TV: very good blacks, strong HDR impact and a natural image, especially after calibration. Brightness is also sufficient during the day, though because of the glossy panel it’s better not to place it opposite a ...

Verdict:

The TCL P7L is a successful budget TV that shows you can get more than just a basic screen for not much money. It doesn't match pricier Mini LEDs or OLEDs, but in its class it has a lot to offer. The VA panel delivers decent black levels and contrast, so during evening viewing the picture doesn't look as flat as on many cheap IPS models. Colors also perform well after calibration. For watching mov...

Verdict:

The TCL A400 Pro is one of the most interesting lifestyle TVs we've tested so far. And not because it turns the whole idea of the "TV as a picture" upside down. In that regard it does roughly what the competition does: it should look good, blend into the interior, and not be just another black slab in the living room. Its real strength lies elsewhere: in picture quality. It's the first TV of this ...

Verdict:

TCL C8L is undoubtedly one of the most intriguing Mini-LED TVs to come into our lab this year. This model stands out primarily due to its excellent price-to-capability ratio. TCL has accustomed us to aggressive pricing of its screens, but in the case of the C8 series, the manufacturer has managed to push the boundaries even further. For the amount that often allows just the purchase of mid-range m...

Verdict:

The TCL C7L is an incredibly successful Mini-LED television and a fully deserved successor to the hit model C7K. The list of advantages of this device is truly long. At the top is the extremely high brightness of the panel. Thanks to this, the television effortlessly handles brightly lit living rooms, offering an exceptional and dynamic picture in HDR format. Huge praise is also due for the use of...

The iFFALCON U85X is a device that draws heavily from the technological solutions of its parent brand, TCL. It is hard not to get the impression that in terms of pure technical parameters, we are dealing with nearly a faithful copy of the successful C6K series (C69K/Q6C), although visually, the designers opted for references to the more budget-friendly P line. This specific combination makes the t...

TCL C6KS (also known as C69KS and Q6CS) is a television that on paper promised to be a hit in the "value for money" category. And indeed, in many ways it's a successful piece of equipment: thanks to Mini-LED backlighting, we get good black levels and brightness that rivals more expensive models. In fact, it's identical to the slightly more expensive C6K model, which we've already tested for you. A...

Verdict:

The TCL C69K / Q6C is a TV that perfectly targets gamers and movie fans on a reasonable budget. Its biggest strength is the combination of a VA panel with Mini-LED backlighting. Simply put, contrast is high and blacks are deep, making evening movie sessions look truly impressive. Add to that a 144 Hz refresh rate, which does wonders not only for sports but especially for gaming. And for gamers, it...

Verdict:

The time has come to gather all observations. The TCL P7K / P79K is a television that cleverly juggles compromises, offering significantly more than we could expect in its price range. Its undeniable advantage is the VA panel, guaranteeing deep blacks and high contrast, and a surprisingly rich package for gamers (with VRR and 120 Hz support at lower resolutions) makes it a phenomenal choice for co...

Verdict:

TCL P8K is a television that immediately wins you over. It seems cheap, supposedly of lower quality, yet it can surprise you. This device shows that at this price, you can still get equipment with character – and it's specifically aimed at a certain group of users. Because let's be honest, the P8K is a television created with gamers in mind. Two HDMI 2.1 ports, VRR support, 4K at 120 Hz, HGiG, and...
