The European premiere of the Xiaomi 17 series is approaching. New information indicates that the manufacturer will showcase smartphones in our market on February 28, just before the MWC 2026 trade show in Barcelona. Unfortunately, not all variants will be available for sale. The most interesting models with an additional screen on the back will skip Europe. This means that users will not see the Pro and Pro Max versions with the distinctive rear display. Only the basic model and the Ultra version will remain available.
No Pro models with a rear display
In Asia, the series was distinguished by a design with an additional display on the back of the case. This feature allowed for quick previews of notifications or using the main camera for selfies. However, in Europe, neither Xiaomi 17 Pro nor Pro Max will be available. This is not the first such case. In the previous generation, one of the more advanced variants was also missing. It seems that the manufacturer consistently limits the most experimental versions to selected markets.
Prices and Configurations in Europe
The basic Xiaomi 17 will go on sale with a starting price of 999 euros for the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant. Alongside it, a more powerful Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be priced from 1499 euros for the 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage configuration. The smartphones are expected to be available in several color versions. The basic model will offer, among others, black, green, and blue casing, while the Ultra will feature more classic options, including black and white.
The date of February 28 is not accidental. The manufacturer clearly wants to take advantage of the media buzz surrounding the Mobile World Congress, which starts in early March in Barcelona. This way, the Xiaomi 17 series may gain additional attention from European media and trade partners.
The European debut of the Xiaomi 17 series will take place at the end of February, but without the most distinctive models featuring a rear screen. Only the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be available for sale. This is a disappointment for fans of bolder designs, although the pricing still targets the premium segment.
