Microsoft has once again compiled a roundup of the most interesting indie games available on Xbox. As part of the Indie Selects program, the company highlighted five titles that are likely to appeal to fans of original ideas and unconventional gameplay. The July selection includes challenging action games, atmospheric adventure titles, and games geared toward relaxing play.
Five games Xbox recommends for July
In this year’s Indie Selects lineup there are five very different titles. The first is Mina the Hollower, a retro action game inspired by classic adventure games with a demanding combat system and a dark atmosphere. The second pick is Realm of Ink, a fast-paced roguelite notable for its striking visuals inspired by Chinese ink painting and its quick combat. The list also includes Bellwright, which blends survival elements with settlement building and strategy. Players develop their own settlement, manage villagers, and gradually raise an army to face opponents. Fans of calmer gameplay can turn to Coffee Talk Tokyo, a narrative game set in a nighttime café where preparing drinks is interwoven with conversations with memorable characters.
Not just RPGs and strategy games. Basketball made the list too
The final highlighted title is NBA The Run, an arcade-style basketball game inspired by street-style play. The title focuses on fast online matches, spectacular moves, and short tournaments featuring NBA stars and fictional players. The Indie Selects program is updated monthly and aims to help players discover lesser-known but highly rated indie titles. Microsoft emphasizes that the July lineup includes games offering varied gameplay, distinctive style, and a high level of polish.
Microsoft has published its July Indie Selects list, which includes: Mina the Hollower, Realm of Ink, Bellwright, Coffee Talk Tokyo, and NBA The Run. All of the titles are now available on Xbox consoles.
