Microsoft has released new themes, badges and a game collection to mark Xbox's 25th anniversary
The celebrations for Xbox's 25th anniversary began with the release of new personalization items created in collaboration with the community. Microsoft invited creators known as Klobrille and Ben Kenobi to the project; they created special profile pictures, wallpapers and a dynamic theme for Xbox consoles. All items are available immediately on consoles and in the Xbox app for PC. The company is also encouraging players to share their own designs using the hashtag #Xbox25. At the same time, a special 25th anniversary badge is being handed out. Every user who signs in to their Xbox account on a console, PC or the mobile app will receive it. The badge will be available until the end of 2026 and can be displayed on the player's profile. Microsoft has also prepared a special collection in Xbox Game Pass that highlights the platform's most important games. The lineup includes, among others, Fable Anniversary, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Fallout 4 and Psychonauts 2. It's a nod to the key titles that accompanied successive generations of Xbox consoles.
Xbox FanFest will visit seven cities, and Microsoft announces more attractions
Microsoft has also revealed the full schedule for this year’s Xbox FanFest tour. The events will take place, among others, at gamescom in Cologne, the Tokyo Game Show in Japan, and in London, Mexico City, Sydney, Toronto and Seattle. Each stop will be an opportunity for the Xbox community to meet and take part in special activities prepared by the company. Tickets for the events will not be sold in the traditional way. Instead, attendees will be able to obtain them through raffles held separately for each city. Microsoft says FanFest is primarily about bringing players together and celebrating the brand’s shared history. At the same time, the company has launched a dedicated hub for Xbox’s 25th anniversary, which will host further information about events, products and anniversary initiatives. Microsoft says more anniversary surprises will appear in the coming months. All activities are building toward the main celebrations on November 15, when the Xbox brand will officially celebrate its 25th birthday.
