The first 83-inch QD-OLED is getting closer? A new panel appeared in certification.

Calendar 4/23/2026

Samsung Display may be preparing another major step in the development of QD-OLED televisions. An entry has appeared in the UL Solutions certification database suggesting the existence of a panel with a diagonal of as much as 83 inches. This is important information, as currently QD-OLED ends at 77 inches, so this would be the largest screen in this technology to date.

New sizes from 24 to 83 inches

In the certification documents, a full range of QD-OLED panels has appeared, from smaller 24-inch models all the way up to the mentioned 83 inches. This suggests that Samsung is developing the technology not only towards large televisions but also monitors, which could further expand its applications. Particularly interesting is the 83-inch panel, which previously had only appeared in rumors, but now has been directly linked to the certification process for the first time. This may indicate that the technology is maturing enough to enter larger sizes, which have so far been the domain of other types of OLED.

When can we see such a television

So far, neither Samsung nor Sony has officially announced a QD-OLED television in the size of 83 inches for 2026. Therefore, it is possible that the premiere will occur later, for example, in 2027 or even 2028. Certification does not always mean an immediate product debut, but it is usually a signal that the technology is already in an advanced stage of development. For the TV market, this would be a significant change, as larger screen sizes are one of the key trends in recent years, and QD-OLED is just beginning to compete in this segment.

The appearance of an 83-inch QD-OLED in documents is a strong indication that Samsung is working on even larger screens. If such a model hits the market, it could further strengthen the position of this technology in the premium segment and attract those looking for large, top-quality televisions.
