OLED is becoming increasingly common on gamers' desks, and forecasts indicate this is just the beginning of a bigger rise. According to UBI Research, OLED panel shipments for monitors are projected to increase from about 5.17 million in 2026 to 7.43 million in 2027. That would represent roughly a 44% increase in just one year.

Behind that result are primarily Samsung Display and LG Display, which are developing QD-OLED and WOLED technologies, respectively. UBI Research predicts Samsung’s shipments will rise from about 3.74 million to 5.08 million panels, while LG’s will increase from 1.43 million to 2.35 million. Samsung would therefore retain an advantage in scale, but LG would be growing that part of the business faster in percentage terms. These are forecasts for shipments of the panels themselves, not the number of monitors purchased by customers.

In the longer term, the numbers are even more impressive. By 2030 analysts predict around 16.73 million OLED panels for monitors, more than three times the amount forecast for 2026. For buyers, that market development could mean a wider choice of screen sizes, specifications and designs. Greater production scale also raises hopes for more affordable prices, although the report itself does not say when or by how much monitors might get cheaper.
