Modern technologies are increasingly finding their way not only into watches or sportswear, but also into everyday footwear. The latest example of this approach is the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide, a pair of slides developed in collaboration with Hyperice. Nike equipped them with a heating system and a vibrating foot massage system. The product was created primarily with athletes in mind, but it's also intended for everyday use. According to Nike, the slides can help with recovery after a workout, a trip, or many hours spent on your feet. They will go on sale this fall.

Air Zoom Hyperslide prioritizes recovery over classic comfort

The Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide is a pair of slides designed primarily as a product to support body recovery. Comfort comes from low-profile Air Zoom cushioning, while the recovery technology was developed by Hyperice. A special module is built into the strap that heats the top of the foot and simultaneously produces gentle vibrations. According to the manufacturer, the solution is meant to help loosen tight muscles and reduce the feeling of fatigue after exertion. This is the second product born from the collaboration between Nike and Hyperice, following last year’s Hyperboot model. Both companies are increasingly investing in technologies that support athlete recovery. The new slides are intended for use both after intense training and following long periods of walking or travel. Nike emphasizes that the recovery process should begin immediately after finishing physical activity. The Air Zoom Hyperslide was developed with that in mind. The manufacturer expects these kinds of solutions to become part of many users’ daily routines. Recovery should be as important as the training itself. This highlights the growing importance of wellness technologies in the world of sport.

Heating, massage and a mobile app in one product

The Hyperice module used in the slides is magnetic and can be removed if needed. The user has three heating levels and three vibration intensity settings. The maximum operating temperature is around 47 degrees Celsius. Each recovery session lasts 15 minutes. All functions can be controlled directly from the module or via the Hyperice app. According to Nike representatives, the project's goal was to create a product that starts the recovery process from the moment it is activated. Soccer player Virgil van Dijk, who works with Nike, emphasizes that combining Air Zoom cushioning with Hyperice technology positively affects the comfort of his feet. Sales of the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide will begin on September 29. The product will be available on Nike's website, in the Hyperice store and through selected retail partners worldwide. The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the official price of the new model. If the solution attracts customer interest, similar technologies could be introduced to other shoe models in the future.
