AOC has released further information on the AGON PRO AGP257FT monitor, which stands out with a native refresh rate of 1,000 Hz. The 24.5-inch display uses a Fast IPS panel and runs at Full HD resolution. The manufacturer says the monitor will go on sale in the first quarter of 2027.

1000 Hz in Full HD. A monitor geared toward esports

The AGON PRO AGP257FT is equipped with a 24.5-inch Fast IPS panel with a 1920 × 1080 pixel resolution. Its native refresh rate is as high as 1000 Hz, and it can be overclocked to 1050 Hz.

A high refresh rate matters mainly in games where the PC can generate very high frame rates. AOC therefore targets this model primarily at esports players for whom smoothness and the shortest possible single-frame display time are more important than higher resolution. The question is where the limits are. As we showed in our video, around 600 Hz is completely sufficient, even for professional players. What comes above that is often just a marketing race between brands. Pushing the limits does make an impression on buyers, even if it no longer adds much. The manufacturer also claims a response time of 0.3 ms GtG. However, this is a value given by AOC and should not be equated with the results of independent measurements.
