FFalcon (associated with TCL) has launched new TVs from the Crane 6 2027 series in China. The lineup includes two models: the entry-level Crane 6 and the much more powerful Crane 6 Ultra. The latter can reach up to 6,000 nits of brightness, has up to 3,456 local dimming zones, and an 80 W audio system. Prices in China start at the equivalent of about $671 (after a simple conversion).
6000 nits and thousands of Mini LED zones
The most interesting model is, of course, the FFalcon Crane 6 Ultra 2027. The TV uses Mini LED backlighting, and depending on the screen size the number of local dimming zones ranges from 1,680 to 3,456. For the 85-inch variant that’s 2,448 zones. By comparison, the previous model had 1,056 zones at the same size. The manufacturer also claims a very high peak brightness. The 75- and 85-inch Crane 6 Ultra can reach 6,000 nits, while the 65- and 98-inch versions hit 5,000 nits. These are peak brightness values, so they should not be taken as the brightness of the entire screen during normal viewing. The TV offers 4K resolution and a 150 Hz refresh rate. There’s also a DLG mode that can raise the refresh rate to 300 Hz. It also includes four HDMI 2.1 ports.
80 W and Dolby Atmos
FFalcon didn't limit itself to improving the picture. The Crane 6 Ultra 2027 received an expanded 4.1.2 audio system with a total power of 80 W. The set consists of seven drivers, including speakers responsible for the height channels and a subwoofer. Onkyo is once again in charge of audio tuning. That means the manufacturer is trying to create a TV that, right out of the box, will offer not only a large and bright picture but also a more advanced surround sound. Of course this won't replace a full home theater system, but 80 W and a 4.1.2 layout look interesting for a built-in audio system.

98 inches for about $1,700
Crane 6 Ultra 2027 comes in four sizes: 65, 75, 85, and 98 inches. In China, after taking into account available discounts and surcharges, prices are 4,499, 5,499, 6,999, and 11,499 yuan, respectively. That’s about $671, $833, $1,041, and $1,718 with a straightforward conversion. Of course, that doesn't mean the TVs would cost that much if they came to Europe. You would need to add items such as taxes, shipping, the distributor's margin, and possible import costs. FFalcon has not announced a European launch for this series yet.
The series has not been announced for Europe, but if it were to arrive here, we could expect a TV with a solid price-to-performance ratio.
