Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition is coming to Apple Arcade. EA SPORTS is preparing to launch it this August.

Calendar 7/15/2026

Apple and EA SPORTS announced that one of the most popular sports game series will soon debut on Apple Arcade. Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition will be available starting August 6 on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. Along with the release, players will also get new entries in the Retro Bowl series, which will further expand the service’s sports library.

Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition will offer a full football experience

The new installment of Madden NFL has been created specifically for Apple Arcade users. The release will deliver the full console experience, but without ads or additional in-app purchases. Players will be able to use Franchise mode, where they take on the role of an NFL team's manager and lead it through an entire season, making decisions that affect the team's development. A classic Quick Match mode will also be available for those who want to jump right into the action. The developers have also implemented dynamic player ratings that will be updated based on their actual performances in the NFL. The game will support controllers on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, providing a level of comfort comparable to console versions. Apple emphasizes that adding the Madden series significantly strengthens the Apple Arcade library and makes it one of the most compelling subscription services for sports game fans. The release is scheduled for August 6.

Apple Arcade expands its lineup with more football games

The debut of Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition won't be the only sports addition to Apple Arcade. On August 6, Retro Bowl College+ will also join the catalog, where players will take the role of coach for one of 250 college teams and try to lead them to success. A few weeks later, on September 3, NFL Retro Bowl '27 will debut. The biggest new feature will be Gauntlet mode, which challenges players to win fifteen games in a row with limited resources. After each game, players will be able to develop their team and unlock new skills, even after a loss. Apple also highlighted updates to other sports hits on the service. NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition received a new player, Paragon, and an expanded The Association mode, while PGA TOUR Pro Golf gained another golf course. With these changes, Apple Arcade is leaning even more into sports games ahead of the major leagues' fall season.
