Lenovo expands the ThinkVision lineup with the L16a. It's a simple 16-inch portable monitor that can be connected to a laptop with a single USB-C cable. It doesn't have flashy specs for gamers, but as a second screen for work it can make a lot of sense.

The ThinkVision L16a uses a 16-inch IPS panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 1920 × 1200 pixel resolution. Brightness is 300 nits, and the refresh rate is the standard 60 Hz. Color gamut coverage is just 45% NTSC, about 65% sRGB, so it's not aimed at people doing professional photo or video editing.

Mobility is far more important here. The monitor has a built-in, adjustable stand and two USB-C ports supporting DisplayPort and USB Power Delivery. The design allows up to 65 W of power delivery, so in the right configuration you can reduce the number of cables on your desk.

In terms of construction, the L16a is very similar to the earlier Lenovo L16. The biggest difference is the new version's inclusion in the business ThinkVision lineup and the Eclipse Black finish. Notebookcheck also notes the presence of a Kensington Nano slot (anti-theft security), which could be important when used in coworking spaces.

So this isn't a device meant to wow you with its specs. 60 Hz, an average color gamut and an IPS panel with low contrast clearly show what it's designed for. The L16a is simply intended as a lightweight second screen you can toss into your bag with your laptop and quickly set up anywhere to make work easier. Lenovo hasn't yet given an exact price or a sales start date for specific markets.
