Naughty Dog is working on two projects set in the world of The Last of Us. Neil Druckmann confirmed this in a statement released to mark this year's The Last of Us Day. For now, it's not clear exactly what either project will be.
Druckmann said the studio is developing two projects that expand The Last of Us canon beyond the events depicted in the first and second installments of the series. The work is at a very early stage, so Naughty Dog has not disclosed details about their format.
It also hasn’t been confirmed whether these are full-fledged games, spin-offs, expansions, or projects intended for other media. The studio also didn’t announce platforms or release dates. We didn’t hear that The Last of Us Part III is coming out, but no one can take away our hope 😉.
Naughty Dog is still hard at work developing its new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, announced at The Game Awards 2024. There’s still no specific release date. We’ll have to wait for more news. It’s definitely worth following the developers’ social media accounts.
