Hisense is increasingly making its mark in the UST projector segment, and the latest model PT1 Triple Laser Cinema demonstrates that it's possible to combine excellent image quality with a reasonable price. This is equipment that will allow you to create a home theater without the need to spend a fortune.
Ultra Short Throw with huge flexibility
PT1 is an ultra-short-throw projector, which means you only need to place it a few centimeters from the wall or screen to achieve an image from 80 to even 150 inches. An ideal solution for the living room, where there isn't always room for a traditional ceiling projector.
Image and colors better than in many TVs
Hisense promises 2,500 ANSI lumens – in practice, this means comfortable movie watching during the day, as long as we close the curtains. Additionally, it boasts up to 110% coverage of the BT.2020 color gamut, resulting in colors that are more vivid and accurate than in many televisions. A contrast ratio of 3,000:1 ensures that both bright and dark scenes will be full of details.
System and support for the latest formats
The version for the British market runs on the VIDAA U7.6 system, while in the USA – on Google TV, which means it could be one of the first projectors with built-in Gemini artificial intelligence (though this is still unconfirmed). It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and IMAX Enhanced, and in terms of sound, we find Dolby Atmos and DTS:X with built-in 46 W speakers (with upward-facing speakers).
AI, movie mode, and playing at 240 Hz
There are a lot of smart solutions on board: DLP pixel shifting, 4K AI Upscaler, and Filmmaker Mode for film purists. MEMC enhances motion smoothness, making it suitable for both sports and gaming. And speaking of gaming – HDMI 2.1, VRR, ALLM, and a 12 ms input lag are specifications that will satisfy even the most demanding gamers.
The projector supports Google Assistant (for now) and Alexa, has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and USB ports. It also supports Control4, so it can be integrated into a smart home system.
Price That Impresses
The biggest surprise? The Hisense PT1 starts at £1,999 (approx. $2,999 in the USA), but it can be bought on promotion from £1,699. This price level places it among the most competitive UST projectors on the market.
In comparison, the flagship model Hisense L9Q Laser TV costs up to £4,000 (approx. $6,000), offering a brighter image (5,000 ANSI lumens) and larger format up to 200 inches, but for most people, the price difference is crucial.
