Google continues to expand its artificial intelligence ecosystem and is making another important feature available to a wider group of users. Gemini Spark, which was previously available exclusively to AI Ultra subscribers, is beginning to roll out to people on the Google AI Pro plan. The tool acts as a personal AI agent capable of handling complex tasks and automating everyday activities. The solution integrates with Google Workspace and other parts of the company's ecosystem. Google says that after its launch in the United States the feature will be made available in additional countries. Spark is expected to significantly expand how Gemini can be used on both computers and mobile devices.
Gemini Spark automates tasks and works with Google services
Gemini Spark is designed as a personal AI agent capable of performing multi-step tasks. It uses integrations with Google Workspace, Google Search, the user’s location, a web browser, and code execution features. Google is also introducing new system elements such as Skills, sets of reusable ready-made instructions, and Schedules that automatically run tasks at a specified time or when chosen conditions are met. The whole system is built around the concept of a Task, the main goal the user wants to achieve. At the same time, you can run up to 15 active Tasks. Google emphasizes that Spark uses the same compute limits as the other Gemini features. The new Spark tab is already appearing in the web version of Gemini and as a separate section in the Android and iOS apps.
New capabilities include Gmail, Google Calendar, and the entire Workspace suite
Since its debut, Google has significantly expanded Gemini Spark's capabilities, particularly its integration with Workspace services. The agent can search and summarize messages in Gmail, draft replies, and organize the inbox using labels. It can also manage events in Google Calendar, suggest new meeting times, and update existing entries. Spark also supports Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Google Drive, enabling the creation of new files, editing their contents, and managing saved documents. Support also covers Google Keep and Google Tasks, where the agent can search for, create, and modify notes, lists, and tasks. Some operations, especially those related to private tasks, can be performed automatically, so Google recommends carefully reviewing commands before sending them. All these features are meant to make Gemini a much more practical tool for organizing everyday work.
Gemini Spark is another step by Google toward creating an intelligent assistant capable of independently performing complex tasks. Extending availability to Google AI Pro users means a much larger group of people will be able to take advantage of the new capabilities. The feature is also set to appear outside the United States in the near future.
