Google is not slowing down in the development of Gemini and is regularly improving its artificial intelligence-based assistant. After a major refresh presented during the I/O 2026 conference, the company has prepared further changes for Android users. This time, the focus is mainly on the appearance and ease of use of the most important features. The update does not introduce a revolution, but it significantly improves everyday use of the assistant. Users who value the integration of system themes and quick access to AI tools can be particularly pleased.
ChooseTV gains Dynamic Color and a more modern look
One of the most important new features is the implementation of Dynamic Color support in the ChooseTV overlay. The function, known to Android users, allows automatic adaptation of interface colors to the selected system wallpaper. As a result, the assistant better blends with the overall look of the device. The most noticeable changes occur when using the dark theme. The text box and additional buttons no longer use neutral gray shades, but instead adopt colors derived from the set theme. In light mode, the differences are somewhat less noticeable, although subtle visual improvements have also appeared there. Among other things, the appearance of the dropdown menu after clicking the button to add new items has been modified. The sheets and cards of available options have received more expressive coloring. Google aims to increase cohesion between ChooseTV and the rest of the Android system in this way. Interestingly, the changes currently mainly concern the ChooseTV overlay triggered on the screen. The full application still does not utilize Dynamic Color to the same extent. However, the company likely plans to further expand this feature in future updates. For many users, this is a small change, but it contributes to a more modern and polished look for the entire assistant.
Important screen-related feature reaches the main menu
Google has also made changes regarding how to use the screen content analysis feature. The "Screen content" tool allows users to capture the currently displayed content and use it as part of a query directed at Gemini. Previously, this option was hidden deeper in the tools menu alongside features related to images or personal data. After the update, it has been moved directly to the main carousel menu. It is now located next to options like Photos, Camera, Files, Google Drive, and Notebooks. This makes access to the feature much faster and more intuitive. Google clearly focuses on solutions that allow easy utilization of the context of currently displayed content. In practice, a user can quickly ask Gemini for an explanation of an article, analysis of a photo, or assistance in solving a problem visible on the screen. This is one of the features that best demonstrates the potential of modern AI assistants. The company has already begun broad deployment of this change in stable versions of the Google app. In some cases, it may be necessary to restart the app for the new layout to be activated. Everything indicates that Google will continue to develop the integration of Gemini with the Android system, making the assistant even more helpful in everyday use.
Google continues the development of Gemini on Android and introduces further enhancements. Dynamic Color makes the overlay look better and fit more seamlessly with the system theme, while the "Screen content" feature becomes more accessible thanks to a new menu layout. Although these are relatively minor changes, they significantly improve the comfort of using the AI assistant. This is another step towards deeper integration of Gemini with the daily experience of Android users.
