Activision has revealed details of Season 5 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone. The update will go live for players on July 23 and will significantly expand the content of both titles. New multiplayer maps, new weapons, timed modes, and additional Zombies content are among the additions. The developers have also prepared changes for Warzone and a new Battle Pass. Season 5 looks set to be one of the biggest updates in Black Ops 7 history.
New maps, weapons and modes coming to Black Ops 7
The biggest draw of the update will be new maps for multiplayer. A brand-new map, Jubilee, set in a Japanese town during a local festival, will be added. Refreshed versions of Frequency and Dig from earlier entries in the series will also return. Mid-season will bring an unusual Turbo Tilt map inspired by a pinball machine and the Freerun: Descent obstacle course. Players will get two new limited-time game modes, Overdrive Domination and Gauntlet Rush. The popular Cranked Moshpit will also return. Activision has confirmed the start of another season of Ranked Play with new ranking rewards. The Battle Pass will introduce the FG42 assault rifle and two Gremlin submachine guns for dual-wield combat. Seasonal events will also offer the Mammoth light machine gun and the melee weapon Mace. There will be new Operator skins, weapon blueprints and extra rewards in the BlackCell edition. The new Battle Pass will spotlight the assassin Spectre as its main Operator, and BlackCell owners will also receive the Operator Cipher. The update will also include new skill upgrades available in the Endgame campaign. The developers promise many special events throughout the season.
Warzone and Zombies will also get a big influx of new content
Warzone will gain a new point on the Verdansk map called Drone Labs. The location will offer new loot, an obstacle course and the opportunity to obtain an armed JLTV vehicle. The update will also add a new HKD killstreak that uses combat drones and a Quickdrop Kit item that shortens the time to return to the match after elimination. The ranked Resurgence mode will also return with new seasonal rewards. Zombies fans will get a new survival map, Eidskallen Lighthouse, and additional Rogue Run variants. Mid-season will see the debut of a final round-based map and new equipment, including the Widow's Wine perk, an extra GobbleGum and two classic weapons. Activision is also expanding Directed Mode and additional story-driven activities. All the new content will be available from July 23, with some content arriving as part of a mid-season update. Season 5 will cover both Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone. The game is available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles.
