Intel may be preparing another price increase for its processors. According to supply-chain sources cited by DigiTimes, On October 5, the prices of selected CPUs are set to rise by about 10 percent. This would be another adjustment following earlier price hikes in 2026.
Another 10 percent increase
According to the report, Intel plans to raise PC CPU prices by about 10%. However, no exact list of models affected was provided. It's also unclear whether the increase will affect desktop and mobile CPUs equally. This would not be the first such change this year. Intel already adjusted the prices of some CPUs in the first quarter and in July 2026. Tom's Hardware notes that the company is increasingly focusing on improving margins, and in its latest results the revenue growth in the client segment was driven mainly by a higher average selling price rather than by a larger number of units sold.
Will processors in stores immediately become more expensive?
That doesn't necessarily mean an automatic price increase for every Intel processor in Polish stores. Retailers may still have older stock, and retail prices also depend on promotions, exchange rates and distributors' margins. However, if the reports are confirmed, it could mean fewer attractive promotions on selected Intel processors. Wccftech also notes that the October increase could limit discounts on models that have so far often been sold well below suggested retail prices.
At this time Intel has not published an official statement confirming the scale or the list of processors affected.
