Apple does not stop innovating. In 2025, a new version of Apple TV is set to be released with a proprietary chip called "Proxima." This new chip is supposed to handle Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and its task is to solve the problems that have affected users of the current models – particularly concerning the weak range of the remote control or controllers. It is expected to be faster, more stable, and better – additionally, the new model will support Wi-Fi 6E, a standard that will practically allow the avoidance of lags, even if many other devices are operating in the home.
Apple TV may not change much in appearance, but when it comes to the internals, it's a different device. We are getting a faster processor that will make 4K content run like a dream, and the device will become even more responsive. Interestingly, Apple is also preparing an update for other devices, such as the HomePod mini – all to make their "homeOS" ecosystem even more cohesive and friendly for daily life.
The premiere of the new Apple TV was supposed to take place in 2024, but Apple decided that it prefers to refine the details – better late than never. For fans of the brand, this is a promise of even greater convenience and better performance. If the company actually delivers on its promises, this model could become a favorite among home entertainment enthusiasts. We are eagerly waiting!
