Lenovo has announced a new gaming monitor that may appeal to gamers looking for a high refresh rate without spending a lot of money. The Lenovo LOQ 25-10 features an IPS Full HD display with a 280 Hz refresh rate and a 1 ms response time. The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the price or launch date.
Affordable gaming monitor
The Lenovo LOQ 25-10 is equipped with a 24.5-inch IPS panel with a 1920 × 1080 pixel resolution. The monitor’s biggest standout feature is its 280 Hz refresh rate. This spec is aimed primarily at gamers who play fast-paced titles, e.g. Counter-Strike, Valorant, or Fortnite. A high refresh rate allows the display to show more frames per second, provided the PC can generate them. The monitor also claims a 1 ms GtG response time and features AMD FreeSync Premium, which is intended to reduce screen tearing during gameplay.
Full HD, 10-bit and 300 nits
The panel is said to cover the sRGB color space at 99% and feature a 10-bit color depth implemented as 8-bit + FRC. Typical brightness is 300 cd/m², with a contrast ratio of 1100:1. Lenovo also states support for HDR10, but with only 300 cd/m² of brightness and no local dimming, it's hard to expect HDR performance comparable to monitors equipped with Mini LED or OLED. For this model, HDR should therefore be considered more of an extra feature than its main selling point.
Price could be the biggest selling point
Lenovo has not yet revealed the price of the LOQ 25-10. According to PRAD's estimates, the monitor could cost around €120 to €130, which converts to roughly $140 before taxes, margins and regional price differences. However, that's only an estimate, not an official price from the manufacturer. If Lenovo actually keeps the price that low, the LOQ 25-10 could be an interesting option for gamers who primarily need a high refresh rate for esports rather than 1440p resolution or an OLED panel.
