Hisense has unveiled an improved version of its flagship ultra-short-throw projector. The new L9Q Pro offers brightness of up to 5,500 ANSI lumens, an image with a diagonal of up to 200 inches, and support for Dolby Vision. The manufacturer also promises better contrast and a wider color gamut.
Hisense L9Q Pro uses TriChroma technology, meaning three separate lasers responsible for the red, green, and blue colors. Compared with its predecessor, the rated brightness increased from 5000 to 5500 ANSI lumens, and contrast from 5000:1 to 6000:1. The manufacturer also promises improved color reproduction and the use of a seven-step adaptive iris that adjusts light output to the scene being shown.
200 inches, Dolby Vision and sound by Devialet
Thanks to its ultra-short-throw design, the projector can be placed close to the wall, producing an image with a diagonal ranging from 80 to as much as 200 inches. A new feature is Lens Shift, which lets you optically shift the image vertically without moving the unit. The L9Q Pro supports 4K UHD resolution and the Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and IMAX Enhanced formats. It also features a robust audio system. Hisense has implemented a 6.2.2 system with Dolby Atmos, developed in collaboration with Devialet. The whole setup runs on VIDAA, providing access to popular streaming apps.
Availability
The new projector is due to arrive in German stores in mid-October 2026. Its suggested retail price is €5,999. In Poland it is already available for pre-order and costs about 25,000 PLN.
The specifications look impressive, but the question remains whether the higher brightness and improved contrast will actually translate into a noticeably better image. We'll only know that after independent tests.
