Apple has officially unveiled the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K. The new player features a significantly more powerful A19 processor, support for the AV1 codec and expanded home cinema capabilities. It also includes artificial intelligence features and an improved remote. Price? No less than 1,499 zł.
The most important change is the introduction of the Apple A19 chip, which, according to the manufacturer, delivers up to 50% higher CPU performance and a graphics processor up to twice as fast compared with the previous generation. This should translate into smoother operation of the system, apps and games. Also new is a hardware AV1 decoder. With it, the device can play high-quality content more efficiently while requiring less internet bandwidth.
4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. What about image quality?
The new Apple TV supports playback of 4K content at up to 60 frames per second, as well as Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG. Despite featuring HDMI 2.1, the device does not offer 4K at 120 Hz. It also includes a hardware AV1 decoder, which allows more efficient playback of high-quality content while using less network bandwidth. HEVC, H.264 and VP9 codecs are also supported.
On the audio side we get Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Plus 7.1. The biggest new feature, however, is the ability to create a wireless spatial audio setup from four HomePod speakers that automatically adapt their performance to the room.
The US version of the Apple TV 4K also includes three microphones that allow voice control without the remote, and a new Siri AI that lets you search for films and TV shows using natural commands. The new Siri AI features will of course not be available in Polish at launch. I guess we've grown used to that 😉. Apple initially announced support for English only in selected markets.
Pre-orders for the Apple TV 4K have already begun, and the device will arrive in stores on 13 November 2026. The price is 1499 zł.
