Gigabyte expands its OLED monitor lineup with the GO27Q32 model. The new model uses a five-layer QD-OLED Penta Tandem panel, offers a 320 Hz refresh rate and HDR brightness of up to 1,300 nits. The manufacturer also promises greater panel durability and improved black levels in bright rooms.
Five OLED layers and 1,300 nits brightness
The new Gigabyte GO27Q32 is fitted with a 27-inch screen with WQHD resolution (2560 × 1440 pixels). Thanks to the QD-OLED Penta Tandem technology, which uses five emissive layers, the panel is claimed to offer higher brightness, better energy efficiency and a longer lifespan than earlier designs.
The manufacturer states a response time of just 0.03 ms GtG, 99.5% DCI-P3 coverage and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. However, the maximum brightness of 1,300 nits applies to only 3% of the screen area. When displaying a full white image in SDR, this value is 300 nits.
New coating and features for gamers
One of the more interesting new additions is the ObsidianShield coating, which NVIDIA says improves perceived black depth in well-lit rooms and increases the screen's resistance to scratches. The monitor also supports NVIDIA G-Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium and an Ultra Clear feature that uses black-frame insertion to improve motion clarity. On board it also includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 2.1 and a USB-C port. The manufacturer has also provided a three-year warranty covering panel burn-in, subject to its terms.
For now Gigabyte has not yet disclosed an official price or the launch date for the new monitor.
