The projector market is increasingly moving away from a simple split between portable and stationary models. Hisense has decided to combine both worlds by introducing the XR10, a device designed with both home cinema and easy portability between rooms in mind. The manufacturer has equipped the new model with an exceptionally bright laser light source, advanced optics and automatic image calibration features. This allows the user to place the projector almost anywhere and quickly start a screening. The XR10 is intended as an answer to the needs of people who expect the highest image quality without the need for permanent installation of equipment.
Powerful picture and advanced optics make a huge impression
The greatest advantage of the Hisense XR10 is undoubtedly its image display system. The projector uses a triple laser light source, which achieves an impressive brightness of 6000 ANSI lumens. This result far exceeds the capabilities of many rival models currently on the market. As a result, the device performs well not only in darkened rooms but also for daytime projection. The manufacturer has also fitted a special IRIS light control system, which increases contrast by controlling the amount of emitted light. The user can adjust the brightness to suit current conditions and personal preferences. The XR10 supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR10+, which translates into richer colours and better detail reproduction. The projector covers as much as 118 percent of the BT.2020 colour space, resulting in a highly striking image. Also noteworthy is the advanced optical assembly, consisting of seventeen elements. In addition to high image quality, it offers a lens shift function that allows convenient adjustment of the projected image position without the need to physically move the device. Hisense has also provided automatic focus, geometry correction and screen detection. In practice this means very quick setup of the projector in almost any location. All this means the XR10 stands out not only for its specifications but also for its ease of use.
Mobility meets premium home cinema
Although the XR10 offers capabilities associated with advanced home cinema installations, the manufacturer has not forgotten about mobility. The projector is designed so it can be easily moved between rooms or used for outdoor screenings. Interestingly, the device is even sold with a dedicated carrying case. Hisense has also implemented a closed-loop liquid cooling system that effectively dissipates heat without generating excessive noise. This solution is far more common in computers and professional equipment than in consumer projectors. The XR10 can project an image up to 300 inches diagonally, allowing for a truly cinematic experience. Users also get a generous set of connections, including three HDMI ports, two USB ports and additional audio and network inputs. The projector runs Vidaa OS, which provides access to popular streaming apps. There are also built-in speakers developed in collaboration with Devialet. Although many users will still opt for an external audio system, the built-in sound is intended to deliver very good sound quality. The only significant barrier may be the price, which is around $6,000. The manufacturer argues, however, that the technologies used and the device’s capabilities justify such a high sum. The XR10 is aimed primarily at the most demanding users who do not want to choose between mobility and the highest image quality.
Hisense XR10 is one of the most advanced projectors introduced recently.
