After a two-month break, Sony is once again starting shipments of home and business projectors in Europe. And this is just the beginning – this summer, the latest BRAVIA 7 Projector will appear on our market. The equipment targets cinema enthusiasts and gamers directly.
Projectors are returning to the market. With the same specifications
Sony's return to European distribution is the result of changes in EU regulations concerning export and trade. Models that have been unavailable for the last two months are returning with the same technical specifications as before. Deliveries will be carried out according to regional schedules.
BRAVIA Projector 7 – European debut in summer 2025
In the summer of 2025, the BRAVIA Projector 7 (VPL-XW5100) will arrive in European showrooms – a model that has only been available in the USA and selected regions of Asia until now. This is a premium class projector, designed for a cinematic experience without leaving home. It features an XR processor, optimised specifically for projectors, which is responsible for dynamic tone mapping and realistic colour reproduction.
The brightness of 2200 lumens generated by the modern laser light source ensures a clear, detailed image even in not completely darkened rooms. Sony also adds full support for the IMAX Enhanced standard, TRILUMINOS PRO technology, and the Deep Black system, which takes care of deep blacks and contrast like in a cinema.
For gamers, a 4K 120 Hz mode has been prepared with low input lag, which means smooth and responsive gameplay on a large screen. The whole thing is enclosed in a compact casing that easily blends into home spaces. The result? A projector with cinematic DNA that meets the expectations of both film purists and console fans.
Comment from Sony: “We are back and working”
– We are delighted to return to Europe with our projectors, including the BRAVIA Projector models 8 and 9. Additionally, we will launch the BRAVIA Projector 7 this summer – says Rik Willemse, head of the Professional Displays and Solutions department at Sony Europe. – The equipment has been available in other regions all along, and now it’s time to respond to the needs of our customers in Europe. Thank you for your patience and trust.
When in shops?
Sony has launched deliveries of projectors to Europe. Specific dates will vary depending on the country and sales network – information will be available on the partner portal and to official distributors.
If all goes according to plan, the BRAVIA Projector 7 will appear in selected shops as early as the turn of June and July. Sony is promising a rapid pace – and it looks like they are truly making a strong return to the European market.
