Philips has launched a new monitor, the 32E3N3800L, aimed primarily at people looking for a large screen for work and multimedia. The device features a 31.5-inch VA panel, 4K resolution and HDR10 support. The biggest surprise, however, may be the price, which in China is just 1,399 yuan.

4K and high contrast at an affordable price

The Philips 32E3N3800L uses a 31.5-inch VA panel with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels and a 60 Hz refresh rate. The manufacturer specifies a 3000:1 contrast ratio, 350 nits brightness and a 4 ms GtG response time.

The monitor covers 99.9% of the sRGB gamut and supports 10-bit colour depth implemented via 8-bit + FRC. It also includes HDR10 support, though at 350 nits you should not expect particularly striking HDR performance.

HDMI 2.1 and limited ergonomics

The equipment includes two HDMI 2.1 ports (TMDS), DisplayPort 1.4 and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. It is worth noting that the HDMI connectors used employ TMDS transmission rather than the full bandwidth of HDMI 2.1. The stand only allows tilt adjustment, but the monitor can be mounted on a 100 × 100 mm VESA mount.

The Philips 32E3N3800L is already available in China for 1,399 yuan, or about €185. For now the manufacturer has not yet confirmed the price or release date in Poland.
