RedMagic has unveiled a new gaming monitor that may appeal to both fans of high-quality visuals and esports players. The device offers 5K resolution, a refresh rate of up to 330 Hz and as many as 5,184 Mini LED local dimming zones. The manufacturer also claims a peak HDR brightness of 1,400 nits!
The monitor features a Mini-LED backlight with 5,184 independently controlled dimming zones. It allows more precise control of the brightness of individual parts of the image, improving contrast and reducing blooming around bright objects. RedMagic has also opted for backlight scanning technology, which is designed to reduce motion blur and improve the sharpness of moving objects.
5K and 180 Hz or 2K and 330 Hz? The choice is up to the gamer
The monitor offers two operating modes, letting the user decide whether they value detail or image smoothness more. In 5K the device reaches 180 Hz, while after switching to 2K the refresh rate rises to 330 Hz. This setup can work well both for visually impressive games and for fast-paced esports titles. The manufacturer has also used a slim aluminium housing with a flat back and a transparent decorative element.
How much does the new RedMagic monitor cost?
The device was unveiled on 15 October during the launch of the RedMagic 12 Pro+ smartphone. Chinese sales are scheduled to begin in December 2026, priced at 6,499 yuan, around PLN 3,800. This is not the brand's first monitor with over 5,000 dimming zones. The earlier GM001S offered 5,088, but only supported up to 4K at 160 Hz.
For now, the new screen's diagonal size and details about its availability in Europe have not been revealed. The claimed HDR specifications also await independent verification.
