iPhone 17 officially. A19, MagSafe and 256 GB at a good price!

Calendar 3/3/2026

Apple has unveiled a new model from the more affordable line, the iPhone 17e. The smartphone brings several significant upgrades over its predecessor, including the A19 processor, support for MagSafe, and increased base storage. The new model targets users who want a current iPhone with a strong technological backing, but without the flagship price.

A19 in 3 nm and 1200 nit OLED screen

The heart of the device is the new Apple A19 chip made using a 3 nm process. It offers a six-core CPU, a four-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine optimised for machine learning tasks and AI features. The smartphone is equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a peak brightness of up to 1200 nits. The panel has received an improved anti-reflective coating and protection from Ceramic Shield 2. Standard versions are available with 256 GB and 512 GB of storage, as Apple is discontinuing the 128 GB variant as the base model.

48 MP and Dolby Vision in 4K

The iPhone 17e continues to utilise a single rear camera, but it’s a 48 MP Fusion Camera with support for 2× telephoto zoom. By default, photos are saved in 24 MP. The device features night mode, portrait mode, and enhanced HDR that improves skin tone reproduction. Video can be recorded in 4K 60 fps with Dolby Vision, as well as spatial audio compatible with AirPods and Apple Vision Pro. A new feature is the wind noise reduction based on machine learning, designed to improve the quality of audio recordings outdoors.

MagSafe, new modem and iOS 26

The model features the C1X modem, which Apple claims is up to 2× faster and 30% more energy-efficient than the previous C1. The company does not disclose the battery capacity but states that it provides all-day usage under typical conditions. Onboard, there is MagSafe with Qi 15 W charging, satellite communication, and Crash Detection functionality. The iPhone 17e runs on iOS 26 with a new Liquid Glass interface. It also supports Apple Intelligence features such as Live Translation in Messages, FaceTime, and phone calls, Call Screening, and Hold Assist.

The device will be available in black, white, and light pink. Pre-orders begin on 4th March in the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada, China, and India, with shipping starting on 11th March. The price is 599 dollars for 256 GB and 799 dollars for 512 GB. Prices in Poland start at 2999 zł.

The iPhone 17e is an evolutionary yet sensible upgrade: a more powerful processor, more memory, MagSafe, and an improved modem without increasing the starting price. For many users, this could be the most cost-effective iPhone in Apple's current range.
