Apple has already begun to reveal some new features prepared for the tvOS 27 system ahead of the WWDC 2026 conference. Apple TV will learn to generate live subtitles and enlarge text
One of the biggest novelties in tvOS 27 will be the ability to automatically generate subtitles for content without built-in translation. The feature is expected to work, among other things, during the viewing of older films or home video recordings. Apple will use local speech recognition that operates directly on the device. The company emphasises that data will not be sent to online servers. Initially, however, the feature will support only the English language. Another important novelty will be the ability to change the text size in the Apple TV interface. This means that elderly people or those with vision problems will not have to use very large televisions just to comfortably read the menu and subtitles. The feature will likely mainly work in system applications and programmes that utilise Apple frameworks.

Apple also announced new capabilities for hearing aids compatible with the company's ecosystem. Made for iPhone devices will be able to automatically switch between different Apple hardware just like AirPods headphones. The company is also working on support for Sony Access Controller for individuals who have difficulty using standard game pads.
