Amazon has just concluded its major hardware event for 2025. The presentation took place on 30th September and was full of new products – from Echo smart speakers, through a new version of Kindle Scribe, to fresh Fire TV, Ring, and Blink devices. Everything is, of course, integrated with the new Alexa+, which is a refreshed, more powerful AI version of Amazon's assistant.

Ring: 2K and 4K cameras and Retinal Vision feature

Amazon has expanded the Ring family with a whole line of 2K and 4K cameras and video doorbells. What are the most interesting new features?

  • Retinal Vision – a system that analyses recordings from the last two weeks to adapt image processing to real conditions.

  • Alexa+ Greetings – intelligent responses for guests at the door (e.g., asking the visitor the purpose of their visit).

  • Search Party – a feature that allows the community to utilise Ring cameras to find lost dogs (and in the future, other animals).

Blink: a year of battery life and a 2-in-1 camera

Blink is a brand owned by Amazon, specialising in user-friendly and affordable home monitoring systems. Its greatest advantage is the battery-operated cameras that can work for months without charging. This solution is particularly popular among those seeking maintenance-free monitoring both inside and outside the home.

New products have also emerged in the Blink family:

  • Blink Outdoor 2K+ – year-round operation on a single battery, two-way audio with noise reduction, person and vehicle detection (requires subscription).

  • Blink Mini 2K+ – a compact indoor camera, simply plug it in and it works.

  • Blink Arc – a solution with two lenses that uses AI to combine the images into one wide shot.

Fire TV: Omni QLED and the new 4K stick

Fire TV is Amazon's television platform that has been competing with Google TV and Android TV for years, providing access to streaming services, applications, and content integrated with Alexa. In the USA, it is one of the most popular Smart TV solutions – both in the form of televisions and multimedia sticks.

At this year's event, Amazon significantly refreshed its portfolio:

  • Fire TV 2-Series and 4-Series – more affordable models for the mass audience.

  • Fire TV Omni QLED – the flagship line with a better panel and Omnisense technology.

Omni QLED with Omnisense Functionality

It is the Omni QLED that is meant to be the standout feature in the offering. Amazon has implemented a solution called Omnisense, which uses motion and light sensors:

  • the television turns on automatically when the user enters the room,

  • turns off when you leave,

  • adjusts the colours and brightness of the picture according to the lighting conditions in the room.

It’s something like an “ambient mode,” only more advanced – the television becomes part of the environment, rather than just a black screen hanging on the wall.

Fire TV Stick 4K Select and Vega OS

Also new is the Fire TV Stick 4K Select with the Vega OS system. This is a device designed to compete with Google Chromecast 4K and Apple TV 4K, but Amazon is strongly focusing on integration with Alexa+.

With the new assistant, you can:

  • instantly find a movie or series,

  • ask about an actor and immediately receive their biography or filmography,

  • check what happened earlier in the plot if you paused your viewing,

  • and in the future, also integrate content with your own interests (e.g., recommendations based on your questions).

It is clear that Amazon wants the Fire TV to become not just a television but a hub of home entertainment and smart home. Thanks to Alexa+ and integration with Echo, the television can respond to voice commands, control other devices, and even function as a large control screen for your smart home.

Kindle: Scribe Colorsoft with a new engine

Kindle has received a refresh in the form of Scribe Colorsoft. The new reader is thinner, lighter, and features a rendering engine that improves colour reproduction and reduces latency while writing. Amazon has also added a productivity toolkit – a digital notebook, AI-assisted search, and integration with Google Drive and OneDrive.

Echo: stronger sound and Alexa Home Theater

Finally – what many have been waiting for. Amazon showcased Echo Dot Max, a new version of Echo Studio, as well as Echo Show 8 and 11. All models received fresh chips and native support for Alexa+. Furthermore, you can now connect up to five Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio in a surround system, with the whole thing balanced by Alexa Home Theater.

Amazon has clearly focused this year on AI and the integration of the entire ecosystem. Whether we are talking about cameras, televisions or speakers – everything revolves around Alexa+ and personalising user experiences.
