The race for higher refresh rates is in full swing! Titan Army has unveiled the U255L Ultra monitor, which offers refresh rates as high as 820 Hz at native Full HD resolution. Interestingly, the manufacturer achieved this on an IPS panel. The new model also features quantum dot technology, DisplayHDR 600 and a dedicated system to reduce motion blur.
TCL panel
The new Titan Army uses a 24.5-inch Ultrafast IPS panel from TCL, based on HFS Oxide technology. The screen offers a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels, and the manufacturer specifies a response time of just 0.3 ms GtG. A refresh rate of 820 Hz means the monitor can display a new frame approximately every 1.22 ms. For comparison, at 240 Hz the interval is 4.17 ms. The difference is therefore significant, although using such a high frequency requires a very high-performance PC.
820 Hz isn't everything. QLED and DisplayHDR 600
Titan Army has also employed quantum dot technology to provide a wider colour gamut. The manufacturer declares a peak brightness of 600 nits, a 1000:1 contrast ratio and DisplayHDR 600 certification. The monitor also supports local dimming, although the number of zones remains unknown. A curiosity is the DyDs Pulse function, which is designed to reduce motion blur. Combined with Adaptive Sync, the feature should be of particular interest to players of CS2, Valorant and other fast-paced shooters.
The set of ports includes two HDMI 2.1, two DisplayPort 1.4, a USB hub and a headphone output. The stand offers 150 mm of height adjustment, screen swivel and support for portrait orientation.
The Titan Army U255L Ultra has already appeared in the manufacturer’s Chinese lineup. The price and timing of a possible European launch remain unknown. For now, all specifications still need confirmation in independent tests.
