Hisense has unveiled an upgraded version of its flagship ultra-short-throw projector. The new L9Q Pro offers brightness of up to 5,500 ANSI lumens, a picture with a diagonal of up to 200 inches and support for Dolby Vision. The manufacturer also promises improved contrast and a wider colour gamut.
Hisense L9Q Pro uses TriChroma technology, meaning three separate lasers for red, green and blue colours. Compared with its predecessor the specified brightness has increased from 5000 to 5500 ANSI lumens, and contrast from 5000:1 to 6000:1. The manufacturer also promises improved colour reproduction and a seven-step adaptive iris that adjusts the amount of light to the scene being displayed.
200 inches, Dolby Vision and sound from Devialet
Thanks to its ultra-short-throw design the projector can be placed close to the wall, delivering an image with a diagonal ranging from 80 up to 200 inches. A new feature is Lens Shift, which allows the image to be optically shifted vertically without moving the unit. The L9Q Pro supports 4K UHD resolution and the Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and IMAX Enhanced formats. It also offers an advanced sound system. Hisense has implemented a 6.2.2 system with Dolby Atmos, developed in collaboration with Devialet. The whole device runs on the VIDAA platform, providing access to popular streaming apps.
Availability
The new projector is due to reach German stores in mid-October 2026. Its suggested retail price is €5,999. In Poland it is already available for pre-order and costs about PLN 25,000.
The specifications look impressive, but the question remains whether the higher brightness and improved contrast will actually translate into a noticeably better image. We will only know after independent tests.
