The European premiere of the Xiaomi 17 series is just around the corner. New information suggests that the manufacturer will showcase smartphones in our market on 28 February, just before the MWC 2026 trade fair in Barcelona. Unfortunately, not all variants will be available for sale. The most interesting models with an additional screen on the back will miss Europe. This means that users will not see the Pro and Pro Max versions with the distinctive rear display. Only the basic model and the Ultra version will remain in the offer.
No Pro models with a rear display
In Asia, the series stood out with a design featuring an additional display on the back of the casing. This function allowed for a quick preview of notifications or using the main camera for selfies. However, in Europe, neither Xiaomi 17 Pro nor Pro Max will be available. This isn't the first time this has happened. In the previous generation, one of the more advanced variants was also missing. It seems that the manufacturer consistently limits the most experimental versions to selected markets.
Prices and configurations in Europe
The basic Xiaomi 17 will be available for sale, with a starting price of 999 euros for the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant. Alongside it, a more powerful Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be priced from 1499 euros for the 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage configuration. The smartphones are set to be available in several colour options. The basic model will offer black, green, and blue bodies, while the Ultra will have more classic options, including black and white.
The date of February 28 is no coincidence. The manufacturer clearly wants to capitalise on the media buzz surrounding the Mobile World Congress, which starts in early March in Barcelona. This could help the Xiaomi 17 series gain additional attention from European media and business partners.
The European debut of the Xiaomi 17 series will take place at the end of February, but without the most distinctive models featuring a rear screen. Only the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be available for sale. This is disappointing for fans of bolder designs, although the pricing still targets the premium segment.
