Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is back from the desert – Ubisoft is dropping new graphics and preparing a showcase?

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is alive – Ubisoft drops new artwork and says the game is moving forward. A showcase might be just around the corner.

No, it's not a mirage. Ubisoft has really remembered "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake" and... finally showed something. After years of silence, a cancelled release, and restarting production, the French have dropped a brief message and fresh graphics. It may not be a flashy trailer, but hey – it's the first sign of life in a long time.

Remake that was supposed to disappear into the sands of oblivion

This project is definitely one of the strangest stories in the industry. It was meant to be a quick return of a classic, but it turned into a disaster – the trailer was torn to shreds, players left no stone unturned on the game, and Ubisoft... made a rare decision: they pulled the release and started from scratch. Literally. New team, new approach, no cutting corners – at least in theory.

“The sands are shifting” – Ubisoft says

In a new announcement, we read:

“Yes, we’re still deeply in development – exploring, building, and making sure the sands are shifting in the right direction. This game is being created by a team that truly cares and puts their heart (and a lot of coffee) into every step. Thank you for staying with us.”

So: hey, we’re still at it, don’t worry. And between the lines: “get ready for the presentation”. Because if the release is actually meant to be in 2026, a bigger showcase must be just around the corner. Otherwise, the hype won’t get off the ground.

Ubisoft, don't screw this up a second time

This isn't just another game. This is Prince of Persia – an iconic title that was ahead of its time. That's why it's incomprehensible how Ubisoft could have neglected its remake so much in the past. Especially since a legion of fans of the series (including in Poland!) is just as loyal and engaged as the communities of "The Walking Dead," "Breaking Bad," or "Stranger Things." This title deserves respect – and a proper execution.
