NVIDIA has officially launched GeForce NOW in India. The launch comes with a special Early Access offer and pricing tailored to the local market. The company aims to capitalise on the growing popularity of fast internet and 5G to convince new gamers to try cloud gaming without having to buy a high-end PC.
GeForce NOW launches with a free tier and two paid plans
NVIDIA has prepared three options for GeForce NOW users in India. The base plan remains completely free and allows access to over 2,000 games at 1080p and 60 fps. Free users, however, must contend with ads, a server queue and game sessions limited to one hour. For those wanting higher quality there’s the Performance plan costing 999 rupees per month. This package removes ads, cuts wait times to under a minute and extends single sessions to six hours. It also offers access to over 4,500 games and the ability to install selected titles. Gameplay runs at up to 1440p at 60 fps. NVIDIA hopes the attractive price will encourage players to switch to the paid plan right at launch.
The most expensive subscription focuses on top performance
The most advanced Ultimate plan is priced at 1,999 rupees per month. According to NVIDIA, it delivers performance comparable to a GeForce RTX 5080, enabling gaming even at 5K resolution with refresh rates up to 360 FPS, if the hardware and the game itself allow it. With this tier, users can play continuously for eight hours, and wait times to access the servers are said to be practically zero. The company is particularly counting on interest from residents of smaller Indian towns, where fibre infrastructure and 5G networks are developing rapidly. This means more people can use cloud gaming without having to invest in an expensive gaming PC. Entering the Indian market is one of the most important stages of GeForce NOW's global expansion and an opportunity to win millions of new users.
The launch of GeForce NOW in India shows that NVIDIA is increasingly focusing on expanding cloud gaming. With local pricing and several subscription tiers, the company aims to reach both casual gamers and the most demanding users. If the service succeeds, India could become one of the key markets for the GeForce NOW platform.
