After a month-long break caused by the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Major League Soccer is back in action. From 16 July, fans will once again be able to follow all regular-season matches via Apple TV. The resumption of play coincides with many players returning from the World Cup and with global stars moving to the US league. Among them is Robert Lewandowski, who will begin a new chapter of his career with Chicago Fire. To mark the occasion, Apple has prepared a range of extra content and features for soccer fans. All signs point to the second half of the MLS season being particularly exciting.
Robert Lewandowski to make his MLS debut and fans will get blockbuster fixtures
Major League Soccer returns with all 30 clubs back in action after the World Cup. In the first days after the season resumes a number of very interesting matches are scheduled. These include a Cascadia Cup derby between Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers, a clash between Nashville and Atlanta United FC, and another El Tráfico featuring LA Galaxy and Los Angeles FC. European fans are particularly drawn to Robert Lewandowski’s debut for Chicago Fire. The Polish striker joined the club during the summer transfer window and on 16 July will face Thomas Müller, his long-time Bayern Munich team-mate, who now represents Vancouver Whitecaps. The match will take place at Soldier Field in Chicago and looks set to be one of the biggest events at the start of the second half of the season. Antoine Griezmann also joined MLS, signing for Orlando City SC after ten seasons with Atlético Madrid. Scottish goalkeeper Angus Gunn has also arrived in the league, signing with San Jose Earthquakes. The return of World Cup players and the new signings mean the level of competition could be even higher than before the break.
Apple focuses on full fan support across its entire ecosystem
Apple TV subscribers in more than 100 countries and territories can watch every MLS match without additional interruptions. The offering also includes broadcasts of the Leagues Cup, the MLS All‑Star match, the Campeones Cup and the play-off phase concluding with the Audi MLS Cup final.
