Not long ago, something like this would have sounded like a fantasy for Sony fans on forums. And today? Here we go. After "Forza Horizon 5" on PS5, it's time for another big title from Microsoft. Halo — the same series that has been the face of Xbox for decades — is set to arrive on the competitor's console.
And no, this isn't a joke or a leak from "my cousin who works at Microsoft". This is a real scenario that is starting to materialise.
After Forza, the brakes are gone
Forza Horizon 5 debuted on PlayStation 5 and... no one expected Microsoft to go this far. Yet here we are. After Playground Games' racing games broke the bank on Sony's platform, Microsoft seems to have concluded that exclusivity is a thing of the past.
Now for the next move: “the Japanese exclusive about soldiers in space” – which of course refers to Halo – is set to be another brand that leaves the green garden and debuts on the blue lawn.
Halo on PS5? Everything points to yes
Industry leaks are clear: “Halo” has appeared in the databases of several major retailers for the PlayStation version. Insiders confirm that something is up. The most talk is about Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which is a set of remastered classics — from Combat Evolved to Halo 4.
But there are also voices that it could be Halo 5: Guardians — a game that never saw a release on PC. If it really landed on PS5, it would be a debut for a whole new wave of players.
Microsoft is giving away treasures? A new era is coming
This all fits into a broader change in Microsoft's strategy. Instead of keeping its biggest brands only on Xbox, the company is focusing on multiplatforming. It seems that it's not just about Game Pass and PC anymore, but full expansion onto PlayStation.
Switch 2? For now, silence. It looks like the Japanese console is not part of this plan – at least not for now.
If Halo actually arrives on PS5, it will be a turning point in gaming history. A symbolic moment when even the biggest players understood that players just want to play — regardless of whether they’re holding a DualSense or an Xbox controller.
Because if "Halo" can make it to PlayStation, then... what's next? Gears? Fable? Or maybe even something like Starfield one day?
One thing is for sure: the boundaries between platforms are blurring. And while Microsoft is still holding on, it’s clear that its exclusivity is starting to crack at the seams.
