Gigabyte expands its OLED monitor range with the GO27Q32. The new model uses a five-layer QD-OLED Penta Tandem panel, offers a 320 Hz refresh rate and HDR brightness of up to 1300 nits. The manufacturer also promises greater panel durability and better black levels in well-lit rooms.
Five OLED layers and 1300 nits brightness
The new Gigabyte GO27Q32 is equipped with a 27-inch panel with WQHD resolution (2560 × 1440 pixels). Thanks to QD-OLED Penta Tandem technology, which uses five emissive layers, the panel is said to deliver higher brightness, better energy efficiency and a longer lifespan than previous designs.
The manufacturer claims a response time of just 0.03 ms GtG, 99.5% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. However, the maximum brightness of 1300 nits applies to only 3% of the screen area. When displaying a full white image in SDR that value is 300 nits.
New coating and features for gamers
One of the more interesting additions is the ObsidianShield coating, which Gigabyte says improves the perceived depth of blacks in bright rooms and increases the screen's resistance to scratches. The monitor also supports NVIDIA G-SYNC, AMD FreeSync Premium and an Ultra Clear feature that uses black frame insertion to improve motion clarity. Also on board are two HDMI 2.1 ports, DisplayPort 2.1 and USB-C. The manufacturer has also provided a three-year warranty covering panel burn-in, subject to its terms.
For now Gigabyte has not disclosed an official price or a release date for the new monitor.
