85-inch TVs – Test Rankings

Technology: LCD VA, Mini-LED RGB

Brand: HISENSE

Verdict:

The Hisense UR9S is without a doubt one of the more interesting launches this year, though not necessarily for the reasons the manufacturer emphasizes most. Admittedly, the first RGB Mini LED backlight in both the brand’s history and this series looks impressive in measurements, but in practice the TV’s main strength is simply that it’s well refined. It’s clear Hisense learned from previous models...

Technology: LCD VA, Mini-LED PFS LED

Brand: TCL

Verdict:

The TCL A400 Pro is one of the most interesting lifestyle TVs we've tested so far. And not because it turns the whole idea of the "TV as a picture" upside down. In that regard it does roughly what the competition does: it should look good, blend into the interior, and not be just another black slab in the living room. Its real strength lies elsewhere: in picture quality. It's the first TV of this ...

Technology: LCD VA, RGB MINI-LED

Brand: SONY

Verdict:

Sony Bravia 9 II is, without a doubt, one of the most advanced TVs that has ever passed through our editorial office. The Japanese have built a real beast, using a completely new RGB Mini-LED backlight design they call True RGB. But the technology alone is only half the success. Only combined with Sony’s years-refined image processing algorithms did a TV emerge that is closer to the director’s vis...

Brand: TCL

Verdict:

The TCL X11L is, without a doubt, a powerful demonstration of the manufacturer's capabilities and a TV that impresses in many areas. You can see the engineers focused on what matters most: peak brightness, black levels and contrast. The new quantum dots with an SQD filter do such a job that color saturation is on par with the top new RGB panels. And the blacks? The X11L can easily be placed next t...

Technology: WRGB OLED, WRGB TANDEM OLED

Brand: LG

Verdict:

There’s no doubt the LG G6 is outstanding in places. Thanks to the new 2nd-generation Tandem OLED panel it does something no other glossy-screen display on the market has managed so far: it suppresses reflections brilliantly while keeping perfect, untouched picture quality. Add record brightness and the panel’s unique characteristics, and the G6 can produce images that at times literally knock you...

Technology: LCD VA, Mini-LED Super QLED (SQD)

Brand: TCL

Verdict:

TCL C8L is undoubtedly one of the most intriguing Mini-LED TVs to come into our lab this year. This model stands out primarily due to its excellent price-to-capability ratio. TCL has accustomed us to aggressive pricing of its screens, but in the case of the C8 series, the manufacturer has managed to push the boundaries even further. For the amount that often allows just the purchase of mid-range m...

Technology: LCD VA, Mini-LED Super QLED (SQD)

Brand: TCL

Verdict:

The TCL C7L is an incredibly successful Mini-LED television and a fully deserved successor to the hit model C7K. The list of advantages of this device is truly long. At the top is the extremely high brightness of the panel. Thanks to this, the television effortlessly handles brightly lit living rooms, offering an exceptional and dynamic picture in HDR format. Huge praise is also due for the use of...

Verdict:

Hisense U7S Pro is, without a doubt, a successful model, but built for specific tasks. Its absolute domain is bright, sunlit living rooms. Thanks to its massive brightness (over 2200 nits in HDR) and matte panel, during the day you can count on a comfortable picture, without squinting or fighting reflections. This great daytime form goes hand in hand with rich features. You get excellent upscaling...

Verdict:

LG NANO81A is essentially a continuation of the NanoCell series, which has hardly changed over the past few years. Aside from a new operating system, a refreshed remote, and a few marketing additions, we are dealing with practically the same design that we have known for years. Thanks to the nanofilter, the TV is capable of displaying better, cleaner colors than standard budget TVs, and the IPS pa...

Verdict:

The Hisense E7Q PRO is a television that clearly shows where the manufacturer has set its priorities. It is not a model focused on impressive HDR or cinematic fireworks in a dark living room. This is equipment tailored for universal use, with a strong emphasis on gaming and everyday streaming content viewing at a very attractive price. The biggest disappointment remains the abandonment of local di...
