Such a plot twist was hardly expected – but it could be great news not only for the USA but also for users from many countries, including Poland.
According to the latest information, a refreshed, much smarter Siri will debut around March 2026, and its intelligence will come straight from… Google Gemini. This is a surprising alliance between two tech giants. Apple is expected to pay Google an undisclosed amount for creating a special, customized AI model based on Gemini that will power the new version of Siri and a smart internet search feature.
Privacy on the Apple side, power on the Google side
Even though the technology behind the scenes will be powered by Google, user data will remain protected. Apple plans to launch the entire system within the Apple Private Cloud Compute, ensuring that all Siri queries will be processed in Apple's cloud, without access for Google. In this way, the company combines immense computing power with its own approach to privacy – which aims to reassure iPhone users that their data will not end up in advertising systems.
Why Gemini?
Apple negotiated with various companies for many months – including OpenAI (the creators of ChatGPT) and Anthropic (the creators of Claude). Initially, Claude had the best chances, but conversations with Anthropic ended in failure due to excessive costs. As a result, Apple decided on Google – and it seems that it was a bullseye.
New Siri Not Just in English
The most interesting thing about all of this is that Gemini handles multiple languages perfectly, including Polish. This is exactly why experts predict that with the launch of the Siri based on Gemini, language support will be expanded to additional countries – Poland, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Japan. This means that after years of waiting, Siri may finally speak Polish – and in a much smarter, more natural form than ever before.
The new version of Siri will debut alongside iOS 26.4, and following it, new devices are also expected to appear, such as smart home displays with a built-in assistant. If these reports are confirmed, 2026 could be the year when Siri truly becomes a global assistant – finally understandable for users in Poland as well.
