Samsung has officially confirmed that its upcoming line of OLED TVs for 2026 and new Odyssey monitors have received NVIDIA G-Sync certification. While this may sound like another technical novelty to many, it is actually an important step for PC users equipped with the most popular graphics cards in the world.
What is the difference between VRR and Nvidia's G-Sync?
It's worth clarifying one thing: the problem of "screen tearing" or lack of smoothness has already been addressed by technologies such as VRR and AMD FreeSync, which Samsung has supported for a long time. So why is support for G-Sync so important? Primarily because Nvidia graphics cards dominate the market, and the official G-Sync certification is a "stamp of quality." This means that Nvidia engineers have tested these screens for hundreds of errors, image flickering, and refresh rate stability. For you (GeForce card users), this means a guarantee that the television will work perfectly with the card without the need for manual "tinkering" in the settings due to issues with image flickering.
Models S95H, S90H, and S85H – what do we know about the new series?
Official G-Sync support will reach the entire main OLED line by 2026. Each of these models offers slightly different specifications tailored to various needs:
Samsung S95H and S90H: These are top-tier designs that now offer refresh rates of up to 165 Hz.
Samsung S85H: A more budget-friendly model, supporting a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
Additionally, the higher models have received the HDR10+ Advanced standard, which is designed to manage brightness even better in supported games. If you're interested
Extreme Refresh Rate in Odyssey G6 Monitors
At the announcement of TVs, Samsung also showed how far the boundaries can be pushed in monitors. The new Odyssey G6 (G60H) is an absolute record-holder, capable of operating at a refresh rate of 1040 Hz in HD resolution. However, if you are looking for better sharpness, in QHD resolution, this monitor offers 600 Hz. For those seeking perfect colors, there is a variation of the Odyssey G6 series, the G61SH model. This is a monitor with a QD-OLED panel that offers 240 Hz in QHD resolution. All these devices also have official support for NVIDIA technology.
For most gamers in the world who use NVIDIA cards, G-Sync certification is primarily about peace of mind. When you purchase a Samsung monitor or TV from the 2026 series, you can be sure that once you connect your computer, everything will simply work.
