Hisense strongly stretches the definition of “mid-range,” introducing a new 116-inch U75QG ULED Mini-LED television to the American market. The device is positioned as a cheaper alternative to the flagship model 116UX RGB-MiniLED, which costs a whopping $25,000.
In comparison, the U75QG is priced at a “mere” $19,999 and will be available exclusively at Best Buy for some time. It’s still a five-digit amount, but Hisense explains that the model sits between the luxury UX series and the more standard televisions of the brand.
Premium specification despite "mid-range"
Although in theory it's a "mid-range" model, on paper it looks like a flagship. ULED is the designation for QLED televisions from Hisense – meaning LCD panels with a layer of quantum dots. In the case of the 116-inch giant, we get:
Mini-LED with over 3000 local dimming zones
Peak brightness up to 4000 nits
Support for Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+, as well as Filmmaker Mode
Hi-View AI Engine X processor from the UX series, responsible for scene recognition, image optimization, and advanced color management
6.2.2-channel Cinestage X system, tuned by Devialet, with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
Gaming features: 165 Hz refresh rate, VRR, Auto Low-Latency Mode, and Game Mode Ultra
Google TV operating system with a full app library and voice control
Price and Availability
The model Hisense U75QG is currently available only at Best Buy. At launch, the price was set at $19,999, but it is currently listed for $21,999 – which is $3,000 less than the 116UX RGB-MiniLED. The television will also be available in other regions in the near future.
